Birthday Week Day #2

My wonderful birthday week continued today with an early morning work out session at the gym, followed by a productive workday and then breezing through my litigation final.  Once all of the work was out of the way the real fun began.  My best friend Maria's birthday is just a few days before mine so this year we had a joint birthday dinner at Benihana with 6 of our best girlfriends.  Dinner was amazing and, again keeping with my thrifty trend of the week, my filet mignon cost a whole $4.88 after my birthday club coupon!  Hard to beat and even better, Baba is now hooked- we'll be going back soon :-)

Realizing how incredibly blessed we all are, we decided it would be nice to give just a tiny bit back to those less fortunate.  We did a 90 minute food packing session at Feed My Starving Children, which is a locally run Christian organization that uses volunteers to pack highly nutritious, low cost food that is sent to needy children around the globe.  In the 90 minute session the volunteers packed enough food to feed 59 children everyday for an entire year, or just over 21,500 total meals.  I actually love the work of the organization so much that I applied to one of their part time positions, we'll see if I hear back.

I feel so incredibly blessed to have such amazing, loving, positive, intelligent, caring and fun women in my life.  Day #2 of birthday week was so great- thank you ladies!!!
