Women's Retreat

This past weekend my mom and I went on our church's annual women's retreat and had a blast.   We headed out of town Friday after work and made a stop at none other than Tobie's in Hinckley!  We got side tracked in the gift shop and hours later finally got back on the road.  Little did we know that with all the heavy rains we've been having the road to the retreat center in Northern Wisconsin was out.  With detours and wrong directions and missed turns we finally arrived almost 2 hours late but our room was so pretty we couldn't stay mad for long.

We spent all day Saturday listening to a great speaker, doing break out sessions, praying and eating way too much.  We capped off the evening with karaoke and singing songs by the camp fire.  It sounds cheesy but it really is a great group of women.  I was the youngest women there, but only by a few years and solo time with my mom is hard to come by these days so I was grateful for the time to spend with her.

I told her she didn't need so many bags for 1 weekend but she didn't listen

Wine needed after the detour from hell (yes, we drink on church retreats!)

The speaker- awesome!

Doesn't do it justice, the place was gorgeous

Karaoke!

Yup, the shirt and mug say "Lutheran Chick" with a picture picture of a baby chick and the other mug says "Lutheran Stud"- for Richard ;-)
